Description: Like any industry, the construction sector is heavily influenced by technology. Even more so in recent years. While materials such as concrete might not conjure images of sci-fi films, lasers and androids, the industry itself has been immeasurably shaped by technological innovations, and this is set to continue. This presentation will discuss current and future technologies that will help automate processes, boost productivity, increases savings, and assist in reducing carbon emissions, all while improving communication and collaboration amongst all construction trading partners. New technologies like in truck concrete monitoring, sustainability trends, fleet tracking, inbound materials management, and other new technologies will be discussed.

  • 1.    Understand N. America & Global industry mega-trends (challenges and opportunities) and how technologies are being applied to solve them.
  • 2.    Gain understanding of new technologies associated with sustainability including: property measurement in transit, carbon reduction, EPDs, quality management, and more

Speaker Bio: Chris Strickland is the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Innovation for Command Alkon.  Chris joined Command Alkon in 2001 and has served domestically as well as internationally, including relocations to Australia and Switzerland.  His past roles include Sr. Project Management, Application Consulting, International Services, Solutions Assurance, Strategic Marketing and Business Planning to name a few.  As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Chris has been responsible in his past for various Business Units, Product Development, Services and Product Management.  He has various certifications including Project Management Professional (PMP) and Pragmatic Marketing.  Chris attended Auburn University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business with a major in Management Information Systems (MIS).  Outside of work he enjoys golf, fishing, Auburn football and time at the lake with family and friends.
